September 23: Reflections

On September 23, 2012, Benevolent Media presented “Reflections,” a photo sale and fundraiser to celebrate clean water and river conservation.

Proceeds from the evening benefited Potomac Riverkeeper, a nonprofit dedicated to stopping pollution and restoring clean water in the Potomac River, Shenandoah River and their tributaries through community engagement and enforcement.

The event, hosted at the Patagonia retail store in the heart of Georgetown, included light snacks, fresh tonics, music and raffle giveaways, plus a special photo sale, featuring the work of photographers dedicated to using their craft to inspire people to care about our natural water resources.

This special event was held to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Clean Water Act, the nation’s law for protecting our most irreplaceable resource, as well as to raise awareness about the upcoming World Rivers Day, to be observed on the last Sunday of September.
